The idea of producing uKloo as an educational game for young readers was always in the back of my mind. When my photo business slowed due to the economic downturn, I decided that maybe it was time to give it a go! When Jackson, my 17 year old son saw me revisiting the clue cards. He remembered the significance of his experience, offered to help and began illustrating the pictures for the Picture Helper Poster.
uKloo Early Reader App evolved from the original uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt game that turns your house into a game board. The app mimics the physical game as kids seek-and-find objects in different environments like bananas at the farmers market or cows on the farm. It encourages kids to look up word clues, search the play screen and discover surprises along the way! There’s even a picture helper to look up words when kids get stuck.
uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt Game takes kids on a reading adventure! Game play is similar to a scavenger hunt and turns the house into a game board. Cards are hidden around the house enticing kids to read the first clue card, find the next clue and locate the surprise at the end. When kids get stuck on a word, the Picture Helper poster provides assistance to sound out the word using a visual cue. This game is beneficial for a wide age range and helps kids build confidence and independence as they learn to read.
uKloo Riddle Edition Treasure Hunt Game takes kids on a reading adventure by solving riddles! Game play is similar to a scavenger hunt and turns the house into a game board. Cards are hidden enticing kids to read the first clue card, solve the riddle and locate the surprise at the end. When kids get stuck on a riddle, the hints provide assistance to solve. If the clue is not enough, the secret answers booklet provides the solution through mirror reflection. This game is beneficial for a wide age range and helps kids build confidence and independence as they learn to read.
