Product Description
Embroidered cloth daily calendar depicts month, day, season, and year with interchangeable cloth pieces. Special areas on the planner allow children to highlight today’s weather, activity and their mood. The 67 individual pieces are attached to the Daily Planner with Velcro and are stored in pockets on the planner.
Communicative
Skills
- Children can use this daily planner as a springboard for verbal conversations and stories. For instance, “December is in winter. It snows in December. I can’t wait to make a snowman.”
- The “feelings” pieces can help children talk about feelings in a tangible way. Have children pick up a feeling piece and then make their own facial expression for that mood. Do this in front of a mirror so the child can see how his facial expression changes with each mood.
- Each section on the Daily Planner is framed with an embroidered box. This can help children focus on one section at a time.
Cognitive
Skills
- My Daily Planner can help children practice visual scanning, as well as learn the order of numbers, days of the week and months.
- Memory and recall skills can be targeted as children learn and remember such things as what kind of weather happens in winter or what month comes after June.
- Each section on the Daily Planner is framed with an embroidered box. This can help children focus on one section at a time.
Social/Emotional

Play Ideas
- Children use eye-hand coordination along with grasp and appropriate timed release to position each Velcro piece onto the Daily Planner.
- Children who have involuntary movements will benefit from using Velcro pieces. They will not fall off easily if inadvertently knocked.
- Children who have trouble with the movements necessary to write (graphomotor) may find having the full words printed helpful in learning the concept without being frustrated by the inability to form the letters and words themselves.
