• Crawling through the tunnel enables children to practice weight shifting and balance.

Play Ideas

• Put the Tunnel out on the floor and watch your child start having fun – no instructions are needed.
• Count out loud how many seconds it takes a child to crawl through.  Have the child “beat” her previous score.
• Roll a ball through or place a stuffed animal inside the Tunnel to encourage a child to move to retrieve the item.

Play Ideas

• Discuss what your child is doing while they are playing in the Tunnel – stress words like in, out, through, front, back, crawling etc.

• Encourage turn taking activities stressing pronouns ‘my turn, your turn, his turn, her turn etc.’ by taking turns crawling or rolling a ball through the Tunnel.
