Physical
Skills
- The Switchamajig Controller provides opportunities for children with physical limitations. ie: Children with cerebal palsy may operate devices through the Switchamajig Controller because the switch panels on the iPad may be easier to access and activate.
- Children can use the controller with friends/family and gain a sense of belonging and cooperation. They can collaborate with others to activate and create.
- Children can work on hand strength and simultaneous or alternating movements as the switches on the panels can be used in tandem. For example: When a child plays with a remote control car he can hold down the green button to make the car go while holding down the orange button to make the car turn.
- The iPad can be placed near a child’s weak side to encourage moving and strengthening that side.

Cognitive
Skills
- The Switchamajig Controller supports independence in children and adults and helps foster inclusion.
- The Switchamajig switch panels are color-coded. Children can learn color recognition based on what color operates what mode of the device being played with. (e.g.: A remote control car may use the red and green colored switch panel. Green drives the car forward and red drives the car backwards.)
- Children can work on directions such as left/right and forward/backward. A user can move a device such as a remote control car in those directions or execute directions received from another person.
